Synopsis:
Elnora Comstock, a bright young woman raised on the edge of Indiana’s Limberlost Swamp by her estranged mother, Mrs. Comstock, dreams of attending college. Shunned by Katherine for her late husband’s affair, Elnora finds solace studying nature and collecting moth specimens. When college student Philip Ammon arrives to catalog the swamp’s flora, he encourages her intellect and helps her sell her specimens to afford tuition. After Katherine falls ill, Elnora must balance filial duty with her aspirations. In a heartfelt reconciliation, mother and daughter mend their relationship, and Elnora embarks on her college journey.
