Synopsis:
Norman Maine, a successful but alcoholic movie star, discovers aspiring actress Esther “Vicki” Lester after a failed suicide attempt. He helps her rise to stardom, and they marry despite his downward spiral. As Vicki’s career soars—highlighted by her award-winning performances—Norman’s jealousy and addiction deepen. In the film’s climactic scene, Vicki wins the Academy Award and pays tribute to Norman’s talent and spirit, even as he makes his own tragic final exit, leaving her to carry on his legacy.
